Signal defective or disconnected
Signal cannot be cleared due to equipment failure
It has to be passed at danger for shunting purposes
Checking a line to see if it is clear

Signaller
Handsignaller
Pilotman
And a shunter (where they have the authority)
Stop at the signal
Receive instructions from the handsignaller
Once detonator removed and yellow handsignal shown you must follow the instructions
Tell guard
When you have also had verbal instruction from handsignaller
or the signaller (or pilotman) has already briefed you and advised you to obey the handsignaller's signal
Proceed at a safe reduced speed (at caution)
No more than 15mph over points, checking they are set correctly
You may travel at the speed appropriate to that signal, unless instructed otherwise.Â
Set the DRA
Once RTS given by the guard
Emergency Special Working
Temporary Block Working
Single Line Working (wrong direction)
Where given permission to do so
Same fault
Both at danger (or second showing no aspect)
No distant signals between
Third signal showing proceed aspect
No TPWS grids on second signal
Ignore any GPS signals unless instructed otherwise.
